Clouds in the Grand Canyon are always awesome. Mather Point is the most 'common' viewpoint on the South Rim. the canyon is unlike other great natural wonders in that you don't see it until you're about 10 feet from the edge; and Mather is often the first view for many. The ability to cradle huge banks of clouds within its walls gives a good perspective on the canyon's size.
The dreamy bluish cast comes from a long exposure. I debated taking some or all of it out (add some yellow, add some red), but finally decided against it.

Oh thats beautiful, I wish I could take photography like that. I love the winter, absolutely best seaond to me :) But then again, I'm hot-natured and hate the sun.

The trick isn't so much in the taking of the photo, it's the getting up from a warm bed at 5:30-6:00 in the morning to go out in the cold and snow--and without the promise of having anything to photograph.
