This image was taken
several minutes before this one: [link]
In the interval,
I did not shoot any other sheets of film.
Another photographer and I had watched
the rainbow form well to the left and
above the canyon's rim.
But, the rainbow gradually moved out over the canyon and began advancing from the east
and towards the point.
I took this because I wasn't sure
if it would get any better,
but it did.
Please check the above link to see.
Nonetheless, this one seems more dramatic,
though perhaps a shade less spectacular.

:iconstartyger:
I felt very alert
:iconstartyger:
I had not been out to Pt. Sublime for a couple of years
before this shot,
and I have not been back out there since.
In fact, it is probable I will never get to Pt. Sublime again.
I suppose I have a feeling that
it might never be as good as this.
:iconfebo-therealone:
yes, it was a unique moment. it will hardly happend to be so magical.
:iconkkart:

Thank you for the :+fav:

You might find this of interest:
I submitted both this and the later shot of Pt. Sublime [link]
to Arizona Highways.
I was told that the later shot - clearly more "spectacular" -
was "cover material",
while this image - the ';Prequel' - was more suitable for "inside" the magazine.
The 'later' shot did end up on the cover of the 1999 calendar,
but, after 10 years, I am still waiting for this one to end up "inside" the magazine.
