Probably the most visited viewpoint
from within Grand Canyon,
Plateau Point offers an
astonishing 360 degree panorama.

This particular view looks back (and up)
towards the South Rim's Yaki Point and
the South Kaibab trail.

Though the hike to the point,
is perhaps Grand Canyon's ultimate full-day hike,
do not underestimate its rigors.

The clouds hugging the rim -
not an unusual occurrence in winter -
are most interesting as
anyone on the rim
will not be able to see the canyon.
But, a short hike down any trail
will soon reveal the hidden splendors.
